Dental Implants and Pain

Contrary to popular belief, dental implants are not a major surgical procedure. The vast majority of time, it is done with local anesthetic (same as you would have for a filling) and the patients can go to work the same day or the next depending on the type of work they do.

With the advancement of newer implants and better techniques, the procedure has evolved so that it is significantly more predictable, far less invasive and much more comfortable. Most patients report minimal discomfort after the procedure and resume normal activities.

Furthermore, by starting a combination of pre dosed anti inflammatory medication and antibiotics prior to surgery, the possibility of discomfort is greatly minimized.
